Even though I was off the last Saint Laurent Women's Ready to Wear collection, the Menswear for Spring Summer 2014 totally rocks. It makes sense to me. The look is more substantial and if you break down the collection into pieces, it's valid to have a luxury label designing them. I wish the women's wear collection made me dream a bit more but I can already pull that look off in my own wardrobe using my oldest op shop pieces and some tights from Glassons! I do like the look, it just didn't take me by surprise or leave me in awe.
BUT this menswear is another story. I would wear these teddy boy looks in a heartbeat! Check out the tailoring and fabrication of those blazers, the mix of fabrics, PVC, gold lame, weird little striped 80s style knits, leather jackets, the styling in general..... and what!? Was that a moose knuckle* I see??? It almost looks desirable!
*Moose Knuckle : the male equivalent to the camel toe...just so we're clear on that.
Some of my own slightly Teddy Boy style pieces from my wardrobe.
1. DI$COUNT safety pin tee
2. Tassel Leather biker jacket I bought in NYC
3. Vintage sheer sleeve, PVC and cotton drill jacket.
I would have modeled them for you but I can't fit them too well right now being 31 weeks pregnant! :)

I caved and finally got an instagram going seeing as I now have a fully functioning phone. You can check me out here:
It's been a rather eventful few weeks. We had a storm here in Wellington, ended up losing power for nearly a week due to sparking wires out the front of our house, then in the middle of the blackout we gone got burgled! It really wasn't a pleasant experience, especially for a pregnant women needing to nest. I lost a lot of my tools for working hence a bit of a slow down in activity on this here blog. BUT we are OK now and safe and there has been a great silver lining to this drama. I won't go into that just yet....lets just say I'm forever humbled by life's twists and turns!
I'm now coming to the end of 28 weeks pregnant in the third trimester. Have been loving dressing my bump. Hope to do a bit of a photo shoot to show you.
This is the latest styling work I did for Emporium Vintage Boutique.
I was really inspired when I saw photographer Bencurious' work and knew he was the guy to shoot these amazing sequin pieces from Emporium. We shot at a cute little bar in Wellington. Again, what a great crew to work with! I adore Kendyl's use of lipstick colours in this shoot and the model really made me feel that sequins are an essential part of life! I have created a 'styling' tab at the top of the page where you can now view my styling work.
In other news....notice I now have a custom domain here at WILDFLOWER! www.wildflowerstyle.com ......Ohhhh she's so pretty!!
